Concept

Aotus is my solo project. I like to think of it as a space I am slowly building, expanding, and exploring - a space derived from my mind, but one that can take many forms and hopefully reach beyond myself. As it is a solo project, I base my work on my own thoughts, feelings, observations, and reflections - while knowing that my subjectivity is only as personal as my debatable individuality. Most emotions are just human, and as we are mostly all human, there must be someone other than myself who can relate to my music and to what I try to convey.

I aim to create spaces where emotions can be felt freely. My work invites reflection, wonder, and connection, blending vulnerability, introspection, and imagination into sound and visual forms. Driven by my emotions, I want to create a space where they are allowed to be the main force — a mystical capital for vulnerability and the indescribable, non-specific aspects of life.

My reason for making music and art is that this creative, open-ended universe is vital for my own well-being and for understanding myself, the world, and life. By opening up my world, I invite others into it, so they might also find a place of home and understanding. If not that, then at least a space that sparks reflection and curiosity — a strange daydream that somehow intensifies both trivial and hard-to-explain emotions, something both intimate og universal, subtle yet immersive.

My current inspirations, aspirations, and ambitions may change over time, but the core of why I do this work will likely remain the same.

Current focus

At the moment, I am inspired by symbolism, abstract metaphors, the concept of consciousness, identity, interconnectedness, and contrasts such as technology vs. nature or reality vs. dreamworlds. I explore introspective and relatable vulnerability through distant realms and metaphoric fiction. The “I” and “us” are on a constant journey through several planes simultaneously.

In 2026, I hope to finish my first album, titled Banyan. The concept of the album is inspired by the banyan tree and its way of spreading and interlocking roots and branches, forming an extensive network that mirrors the album’s themes of interconnectedness — how nothing exists in isolation. It reflects transformation, growth, expansion, and the evolution of identity and consciousness, illustrating that introspection and personal emotions are never as purely subjective as they may seem on the surface.
